Vin de Pays de la Principaute d'Orange Rouge “À côté” 2021 - Domaine Charvin

Vin de Pays de la Principaute d'Orange Rouge “À côté” 2021 - Domaine Charvin

A red wine from the Rhone Valley made from 70% Merlot and 30% Grenache grapes grown in the Campredon estate, southern Rhone Valley, with mixed-age vines planted since the 1950s on clay-silty soil with some sand.

The pressing is of whole bunches and follows maceration for 17-25 days and then it is refined in cement for 21 months and five months in the bottle before being put on the market.

Domaine Charvin was founded in 1851 in the municipality of Orange.
Today Guillaume Charvin runs it and the company has 33 hectares cultivated according to organic agriculture (Ecocert certification) and without the use of chemicals in the vineyard.

The philosophy adopted in the vineyard is confirmed in the cellar, where selected yeasts are not used and sulphites are used very sparingly.

Maceration is preferred on whole bunches, with undestemmed bunches, so as to preserve the freshness of the wines produced.
