Forlini Cappellini - Cinqueterre Sciacchetrà DOC 2016
Forlini Cappellini - Cinqueterre Sciacchetrà DOC 2016
Forlini Cappellini is a small family business in Manarola, a hamlet in the municipality of Riomaggiore. We are in Eastern Liguria, within the incredible landscapes of the Cinque Terre, where viticulture is rightly defined as heroic. Just think that in some places the slopes of the vineyards reach 90%, real cliffs overlooking the sea where the hand of man has been able to design a landscape of incredible beauty with the creation of terraces and dry stone walls.
The possibility of using machinery to work in the vineyard is non-existent and all the wine that comes from these areas is the result of a lot, a lot of hard work.
A good dose of passion is essential and from these points could only originate products of goodness and absolute quality such as the great Sciacchetrà for which Forlini Cappellini is famous.
The family business produces two wines: a still white and Sciacchetrà, both from local Bosco, Vermentino and Albarola grapes.
The still white “CinqueTerre” DOC is vinified and aged in steel while the “CinqueTerre Sciacchetrà DOC” is made only in the best years and with the best grapes that are left to dry and then pressed very gently. Fermentation takes place in small wooden barrels and the wine is bottled without filtering after five years.
