Domaine Jean-Marie Berrux - Bourgogne Blanc "Le Petit Tetu"

LE PETIT TÊTU – Domaine Jean-Marie Berrux

Bourgogne Blanc – 100% Chardonnay

Le Petit Têtu is a white Burgundy with a bold and vibrant character, a true expression of the Chardonnay grown in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. It's a wine that speaks of purity and balance, of that mineral tension that only great Burgundian whites can offer, but with a freer, less polished, more lively personality.

In the glass, it appears straw yellow with golden highlights. The nose reveals notes of lime and ripe citrus, crisp white fruit, wildflowers, and a delicate iodine-mineral note. On the palate, it is linear and vibrant, with a taut and precise acidity, an elegant texture that fades into a creamy and slightly saline finish. A wine with refined drinkability, closer to craftsmanship than power, capable of expressing a region through a contemporary sensibility.

Vinification and refinement:
Soft pressing of the grapes and spontaneous fermentation in second-use barriques and tonneaux. Aged for approximately twelve months in the same wood lends roundness and complexity, without ever weighing down the wine. No fining or invasive filtration, exclusive use of indigenous yeasts, and minimal sulfites during bottling.

Recommended pairings:
Perfect with seafood appetizers, shellfish, oysters, baked or grilled fish; also interesting with soft cheeses and vegetarian dishes based on sweet vegetables or root vegetables.

Producer: Jean-Marie Berrux

Jean-Marie Berrux is one of the most authentic voices of the new Burgundy. Originally from Savoy, after a career in advertising in Paris, he chose, in 1999, to change his life and study oenology in Beaune. He settled in Meursault, where he cultivates just over one and a half hectares of vineyards, following an approach inspired by biodynamics and a profound respect for the soil and the natural rhythms of the vine.

The name of his wine, Le Petit Têtu – “the stubborn little one” – speaks to his independent spirit: the choice not to bow to market conventions, but to produce authentic wines with character and soul.
In the glass, the result is an elegant but never complacent white, in which the energy of the fruit and the vitality of the Meursault terroir come together in a unique balance.
