Apricot Compote - Alpe Pragas - Fruit Delights from Trentino
Alpe Pragas Apricot Compote is made with sweet, fragrant apricots harvested in the orchards of South Tyrol. A natural and authentic product, with a full flavor and velvety texture.
The apricot (Prunus armeniaca) is a fruit native to north-eastern China, introduced to Europe by the Romans around 70 BC via Anatolia.
Today it is grown mainly in Mediterranean countries such as Italy and Spain, but also in some more northern areas, including Val Venosta , where the apricots used by Alpe Pragas come from.
Harvested when perfectly ripe, the apricots are gently cooked with cane sugar, lemon juice and natural apple pectin , thus maintaining their aroma, colour and nutritional properties intact.
Rich in calcium and vitamin C , the compote offers a naturally sweet taste and a soft, velvety texture, perfect for bread, yogurt, tarts or fresh cheeses .
Handcrafted in Braies, in Alta Pusteria, it is free from preservatives, colourings or artificial flavourings , in keeping with the “Finest Fruits” philosophy.
