Charlot Père et Fils - Champagne BdB Brut Nature 2010

Charlot Père et Fils - Champagne BdB Brut Nature 2010

A Monocépage Champagne from Chardonnay. Elegance, finesse, complexity, are words that immediately come to mind when tasting this great 2010 vintage champagne, of great character and longevity.

Only Chardonnay on sandy clay soil and 35 year old vines.

Direct pressing of the grapes, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks and used barriques. Aging in the same containers until summer. Bottling and addition of sugars for refermentation. Disgorging after 84 months.

Bottles produced: 2736.

We are located in the Marne Valley. Charlot Père et Fils is a small family-run Maison in Chatillon sur Marne.

Pierre Charlot took over the management of the 4.5 hectares of the company in 2009 and was influenced by the biodynamic philosophy of Pierre Masson.

The vineyards all face south and the plants, divided between mostly Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, have an average age of 30 years.

The fermentations are all strictly spontaneous and begin in stainless steel and then move to used barriques. After the end of fermentation the vin clairs remain in contact with the fine lees until the summer following the harvest.

All Charlot Champagnes contain no added sulphites and rest on the lees for a minimum of 3 years, up to 8 for the vintage ones.
