Jeaunaux-Robin is located in the Vallée du Petit Morin in the Champagne region. In 1999, he began his career in the company with his parents, who had begun the adventure in 1971, to then take the reins and begin the first vinifications in wood in 2002.
The woods used are third/fourth passage and come from Burgundy. In 2003 he installed a second press in addition to the one installed by his parents, so as to be able to press the grapes immediately after harvesting them.
The wines are left to rest and refine in underground cellars built over the years by the parents with chalk stones.
Since 2005 the company has been working in the most sustainable way possible, today it is certified organic and some biodynamic preparations are used to give vitality to the soil and greater balance.
The silica present in the soils of the Valley gives the wines a characteristic minerality.
Acidity, freshness and vitality are elements sought by Cyril Jeaunaux, who avoids malolactic fermentation where possible.
The company works 4.5 hectares in the municipality of Talus Saint Prix and of these 60% are cultivated with Pinot Meunier, 30% with Pinot Noir and 10% with Chardonnay.
The majority of Meunier is due to the fact that it is more resistant to spring frosts: the river Le Petit Morin flows through the Valley, and its presence sometimes brings fog, which can induce spring frosts.
Between 2001 and 2003 Cyril and his wife Clémence also planted one hectare of vineyard in Montier en l'Isle, in the Cote des Bar, mainly with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
