Casa Coste Piane - Colli Trevigiani IGT Glera “Brichet”

Casa Coste Piane - Colli Trevigiani IGT Glera “Brichet”

A sparkling wine composed of 95% Glera and a small percentage of Verdiso, Bianchetta, Pereira. A selection of grapes from marly soils from plants of different ages, among which the oldest reach 80 years.

In the cellar, after a soft pressing of the whole grapes, the wine is filtered following a coarse filtration, which does not remove yeasts. After an aging until April in steel, the wine is bottled and naturally referments in the bottle.

Alcohol content: 12% vol.

Format: 750 ml and 150 ml

Casa Coste Piane is in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene. The property extends for 6 hectares between 250 and 400 meters above sea level. Among the rows you can find examples of vines that are over a hundred years old.

Loris Follador and his family define themselves as custodians of the land they work and as such aim to maintain and preserve it. Prosecco is produced by resisting the autoclave, as was once done, with the “sul lie” method, today also called “col fondo”, whereby the wine is left to referment in the bottle and put on the market in the same bottle once fermentation is complete, often with residues of exhausted yeasts that settle on the bottom and with a crown cap to close. These are wines with thin bubbles unlike the Charmat methods with coarser bubbles, with great aromatic and mineral potential and excellent ease of drinking.
